Sixth grade students explore light and matter
Sixth grade students explore light and matter
Our sixth grade students have enthusiastically launched into their first science unit of the semester, Light and Matter. Throughout this unit, students are investigating how light travels and how it interacts with different materials through hands-on experiments, careful observations, and thoughtful discussions.
Studying science at the elementary and intermediate level is essential for building curiosity, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around us. By exploring concepts such as light and matter, students learn to ask questions, analyze evidence, and make connections between classroom learning and real-world applications. These experiences help lay a strong foundation for future scientific learning while encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and a lifelong interest in discovery.
Our sixth graders are truly shining as they engage in meaningful scientific exploration and develop skills that will support them both in and beyond the classroom.
