Orchestra students attend Wichita Symphony concert
Maize Intermediate School 5th- and 6th-grade orchestra students recently had the opportunity to attend a live performance by the Wichita Symphony, and they represented our school wonderfully. Students were engaged, respectful, and enthusiastic as they experienced professional musicianship firsthand. It was a memorable outing that sparked excitement and appreciation for the art of music.
Learning to play an instrument offers students far more than musical skills alone. Music education helps develop discipline, focus, and perseverance while strengthening cognitive skills such as memory, problem-solving, and creativity. Participating in orchestra also teaches teamwork and responsibility, as students learn to listen, collaborate, and contribute to a shared goal. Experiences like attending a symphony concert deepen students’ understanding of music and inspire a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
We are proud of our orchestra students for their outstanding behavior and their commitment to learning through music.
